Nijigasaki gets a film trilogy finale and a visual novel! Meanwhile in Japan, a candy company won top honors at medicinal product awards, and dragon-laced candy for Year of the Dragon!

Gojo’s Voice Actor responds to recent studio controversy, Spy X Family gets a taste of Street Fighter 6, and My Neighbor Totoro gets a little taste of Whisky?! Also, Jump Festa gets English interpretation for the global live stream, Frieren added 7 million manga copies into circulation in the last 2 months, and dates released for the US debut of Pokémon Horizons! Meanwhile in Japan, McDonald’s brings back punny savory pie, and a father turns his son in for robbery!

J-1 Con 2023: It’s not you, it’s the Venue

J-1 Con is a two day event with roots in Philadelphia. The convention hosted its 2023 event in New Jersey, at the Atlantic City’s Showboat Hotel with a slew of guests and offerings such as cosplay wrestling, game tournaments, and live music.

J-1 Con is my last convention of 2023. Some of the points made in this video do echo those made in a recent podcast and mainly reflect on the venue hosting the event rather than the convention itself.

Meanwhile in Japan… New fried chicken designed to taste great with alcohol, and a Ferris wheel adds kotatsu and hot sake service?!
