It is with a heavy heart that we report that the con chair for Katsucon 19 has passed away. Christine Larson passed away from severe complications of pneumonia and the H1N1 flu virus. Reports had come in from other attendees that they were coming down with the virus… As well as incidents of people coming down with pneumonia. Unfortunately, Christie ended up afflicted with both. She was in a medically induced coma, fighting for her life, before ultimately passing.

A crowdfunding site has been implemented to help the family cover her medical bills as well as other final expenses. As the family worries that the medical bills may bankrupt them, as Christie’s income was roughly half of what the family pulled in, any amount that you can give to her family is greatly appreciated.
