It’s time once more for another cosplayer interview! This next one, shared from Cosplay Blog with a Brain, is an interview with Miss Morgan! She’s a talented cosplayer from Washington, who has an eclectic collection of costumes!

What’s your cosplay alias and why did you choose it?
I originally went by lilbeeze (pronounced lil’ bees) which I picked because my dad goes by Beezer when he plays online. But then people told me that beeze means something else, haha.

I currently go by Miss Morgan, which is what some of my friends at college call me and I liked it so I used it for my modeling/cosplay page.

How many years have you been cosplaying and what got you started?
I have been cosplaying for six years now. I started because my friends in high school and I had just gotten into anime and went to our first convention. After that, we decided that we had to cosplay from then on cause it looked so fun.

What has been some of your favorite things to work with when constructing costumes and why?
I don’t know about things, but I have gotten to work with my dad who has helped me figure out how to make some things which was cool. He has meltable plastic which I have used in some cosplays and was interesting to work with.

What are you excited to be working with in the future and why?
I don’t plan to work with new materials in the near future; I always love working with craft foam which I’m sure will be used some point in one of my upcoming cosplays.

What are some of the traits you like to see in other costumes and who do you think does well in them?
I think anyone who can make armor is awesome. I wouldn’t know where to start with that but it would be cool to learn one day.

What is your view of the “cosplay scene”?
I feel that there are many different “cosplay personalities”. You have some that make incredible cosplays but it also gives them a superiority complex about it. Then there are the cosplayers who just do it for fun, where it is more about the experience than the actual costume itself. There are people who are a great mix of dedication to the costume but also want to have fun at con which I think is what all cosplayers should strive towards.

What are some of the things you want to see change in the scene?
I think cosplayers should strive to have fun and cosplay awesome stuff. Be proud of what you made and there should never be anyone (especially a fellow geek or cosplayer) who should make you feel bad.

What is some advice you could give people starting to get into cosplay?
Pick characters that you really like, do what you want to do and have fun with it! Make something that you are going to be proud of to show at con, and don’t worry if it’s not perfect because we all are improving as we continue making more cosplays.

What are some of your favorite conventions you’ve attended and why?
I love going to PAX. It is by far my favorite convention because there is so much to do and often a lot of really cool cosplays and a lot of people who get excited about your costume.

Give a random fact about one of your costumes that you’re proud of!
My Jam cosplay is one of the first ones I ever did without any assistance from my mom and I met my current boyfriend while wearing it at PAX after we talked about how when he played Guilty Gear he always played as her.
