The minds behind the long running video game podcasts Orange Lounge Radio and The Bobby Blackwolf Show are announcing their next big project: The VOG Network. The long-running Under Sedation Live will also be one of the inaugural programs on the network.
VOG is short for “Voice of Geeks.” Launching tomorrow, April 29th, at 7:30PM Eastern (4:30PM Pacific) at www.vognetwork.com, The VOG (Voice of Geeks) Network is an online network dedicated to geek culture and all things fandom. The flagship 24/7 radio station features original programming discussing the latest in video games, sci-fi, cult favorites, nerd living, and more! All of the programs are interactive, giving the listener the chance to have their voices heard! When no live programming is scheduled, an eclectic playlist of music dedicated to geek culture is featured.
In the coming months, VOG will be not just a radio network to listen to and interact with, but will grow to include video content as well as feature articles and an online forum to meet and greet other fans.
The VOG Network’s radio feed will launch with the following flagship programs:
All inaugural shows will interact with their listeners through a new chatroom dedicated to the VOG Network. More shows are scheduled to join the network at a later date, so please stay tuned to vognetwork.com for all the updates!
VOG Network Co-Founder Bobby Blackwolf explains how The VOG Network is much more than “just another Internet radio station” in the following statement:
But what if we DON’T have someone on staff who is familiar with the particular hot property on the news right now? Many times, as listeners of podcasts or readers of blogs, we have wanted to scream back at the monitor and tell the uninformed jerk how wrong they are. Usually, we do this via all caps comments on their YouTube video, but really, we all know that jerk isn’t reading the comments. At VOG, YOU have a voice in real-time. All of our programming, be it audio, video, or text, will be interactive. YOU can interject and tell us what we’re missing. (Although we’d prefer it if you didn’t yell in all caps. That’s just rude, and hurts our eyes. And when our eyes hurt, tears come out. You don’t want us to look like we’re crying when we’re really not, do you?)
VOG is being started by people with a combined 37 years in internet radio experience, and many more years in fostering online communities.
We have learned from the best of our successes, as well as the worst of our mistakes.
Now, the gloves are off.
Kneel Before VOG.
