The minds behind the long running video game podcasts Orange Lounge Radio and The Bobby Blackwolf Show are announcing their next big project: The VOG Network. The long-running Under Sedation Live will also be one of the inaugural programs on the network.

VOG is short for “Voice of Geeks.” Launching tomorrow, April 29th, at 7:30PM Eastern (4:30PM Pacific) at www.vognetwork.com, The VOG (Voice of Geeks) Network is an online network dedicated to geek culture and all things fandom. The flagship 24/7 radio station features original programming discussing the latest in video games, sci-fi, cult favorites, nerd living, and more! All of the programs are interactive, giving the listener the chance to have their voices heard! When no live programming is scheduled, an eclectic playlist of music dedicated to geek culture is featured.

In the coming months, VOG will be not just a radio network to listen to and interact with, but will grow to include video content as well as feature articles and an online forum to meet and greet other fans.

The VOG Network’s radio feed will launch with the following flagship programs:

Orange Lounge Radio – The Internet’s longest still-running weekly Internet video game show where EVERY gamer has a voice continues it’s run on the VOG Network. This award-winning show with a loyal fan community is known to be very unpredictable, but always good for laughs and unique video game industry insight. Episode #455 of the show will be the first episode heard on VOG, and the show will air weekly on Sunday nights at 6PM Pacific, 9PM Eastern.
The Bobby Blackwolf Show – Video game music composer and former G4 Senior Moderator Bobby Blackwolf brings his long standing video game talk program to the VOG Network beginning Sunday April 29th at 5PM Pacific, 8PM Eastern. Bobby’s show is dedicated to the latest news affecting the video game industry, but is place to reminisce about video game history. This one-host show relies heavily on live interaction through a chatroom as well as live telephone calls, where anything can happen.
Under Sedation Live – One of the longest running live Internet shows (Eleven years and counting!) Under Sedation Live (USL) will move to the VOG Network starting on May 5th. Travis and Jessica bring their unique blend of humor on a variety of pop-culture-infused geek topics to a live and interactive audience Saturday nights at 8PM Pacific, 11PM Eastern. USL will also be the first program on the VOG Network to include video elements.

All inaugural shows will interact with their listeners through a new chatroom dedicated to the VOG Network. More shows are scheduled to join the network at a later date, so please stay tuned to vognetwork.com for all the updates!

VOG Network Co-Founder Bobby Blackwolf explains how The VOG Network is much more than “just another Internet radio station” in the following statement:

There are many sides of “geek culture” – and it’s almost impossible for one person to be intimately knowledgeable in all of them. Even inside one area – take games, for example – you have video games, social games, serious games, board games, tabletop games, collectible card games, LARPs…It’s impossible for one person to be an expert in ALL of those type of games. But let’s say that a niche board game gets a port to a video game console…In a network like VOG, we hope to have both video game gurus as well as board game gurus, and we can pool those resources to give the best analysis to our audience. Even movies have different subgenres, even more specific than “fantasy” and “sci-fi”…Let’s say a graphic novel has been signed to be a major motion picture with a particular director. Combining the knowledge of the novel from our comic book contributors with our knowledge of the director from our sci-fi contributor, we can once again give you the best analysis possible.

But what if we DON’T have someone on staff who is familiar with the particular hot property on the news right now? Many times, as listeners of podcasts or readers of blogs, we have wanted to scream back at the monitor and tell the uninformed jerk how wrong they are. Usually, we do this via all caps comments on their YouTube video, but really, we all know that jerk isn’t reading the comments. At VOG, YOU have a voice in real-time. All of our programming, be it audio, video, or text, will be interactive. YOU can interject and tell us what we’re missing. (Although we’d prefer it if you didn’t yell in all caps. That’s just rude, and hurts our eyes. And when our eyes hurt, tears come out. You don’t want us to look like we’re crying when we’re really not, do you?)

VOG is being started by people with a combined 37 years in internet radio experience, and many more years in fostering online communities.

We have learned from the best of our successes, as well as the worst of our mistakes.

Now, the gloves are off.

Kneel Before VOG.
